Honda has announced of launching four new products this year. One of these products will be a new version of the CB Hornet , which will be the Honda CB Hornet 160R with a full fairing. This will be another product in the CB line up . What will the CB Hornet 160R faired version have? How different will it be? Who will it compete against? Read on to know more.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R will be priced about INR 1 Lakh (on-road). This will compete mainly against the Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Yamaha Fazer.

New Honda CB Hornet 160R Launch Date

The Honda CB Hornet 160R Fairing version will be launched by the festive season this year.  The new bike will provide another option to buyers, specially those who like fully faired bikes.  It will also give Honda a bike to compete with Suzuki and Yamaha in the 150-160cc faired bikes.

New Honda CB Hornet 160R Design

The Honda CB Hornet 160R will be a good looking bike similar to the regular Hornet 160 R. It will look very sporty and will have a stylish full fairing. A large headlamp will don the centre and will have LEDs too. The instrument cluster will be similar to the regular Hornet. Apart from the fairing, rest all the other parts will be shared with the regular Hornet 160R. This includes the chiseled fuel tank, the sleek seat, the two piece grab handle, the exhaust as well. The tail lamp will also have the same X design. The fairing will mean that the bike will not see a major change in its design.

New Honda CB Hornet 160R Colours

The faired version of the Honda CB Hornet 160R will come in five colour options. These are likely to be

• Neo Orange Metallic
• Pearl Amazing White
• Pearl Siren Blue
• Pearl Nightstar Black
• Sports Red

There might be new colours also that could be introduced. Maybe a Repsol edition. Though we reckon this might be coming on the CBR 150 than the Hornet.

New Honda CB Hornet 160R Engine

The 162.71 cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine produces 15.6bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.76 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The engine has decent power for city riding. It also cruises comfortably. It is only when you want to derive more power on the highway that it feels lacking a bit. The acceleration of the bike will be linear and the exhaust note also will be the same. Technically there will be no change in the bike and the Honda CB Hornet 160R full faired version will perform similar to the naked version.

New Honda CB Hornet 160R Mileage

The New Honda CB Hornet 160R fairing version will return around 59 km/l as per the ARAI certification is concerned, identical to the regular CB Hornet 160R. In real world riding conditions, it should return around 35 km/l in the city and close to 44 km/l on the highway.
