Bajaj Auto is revamping its Pulsar range for 2017. They will be launching an upgraded Pulsar 180. The bike has already started reaching dealerships across the country. 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 Design

In terms of styling, the new model is very similar to the earlier version, except for the few changes to keep things fresh in the market. The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 comes with a single colour instead of the dual-tone one in the earlier bike. New decals now come the bike. It also gets red taping on the alloy wheels which makes it look sportier. The seats also are bolstered with better cushions. The handlebar and the headlamp bezel now come in matte black finish.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 Instrumentation

The instrumentation on the new Pulsar 180 is identical to the earlsier bike. However this time it gets a blue backlight. The combination of a digital speedo with an analogue tacho remains. The switchgear is also the same and there is no reason to complain and they are of good quality.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 Engine

The 2017 Pulsar 180 will continue to have the same 178.6cc air- cooled single cylinder engine as the current one. The only change is that the engine will now be BS-IV compliant. It will produce a maximum power of 17bhp@8500rpm and a torque of 14.2Nm@6500rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The bike is expected to be more refined than earlier. It will also be more efficient. The Pulsar 180 has been a bike with a good balance of performance and fuel efficiency.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 Ride and Handling

The Pulsar 180 has always been a bike with very good handling characteristics. The ride quality is good and the suspension setup is optimal for tarmac as well as bad roads.Agility of the bike os quite good as well as straight line stability. The new Pulsar 180 is expected to provide better ride comfort as it gets a better seat cushion. This new seat is not as hard as the earlier one, so long runs on this bike will be better. The addition of a rear disc brake will improve the overall breaking efficiency as well. The bike will be even better after the ABS version is introduced.

Bajaj Pulsar 180 Top Speed

The Bajaj Pulsar 180 has a top speed of about 120km/hr. This is quite a fast bike with excellent acceleration too.

The new Pulsar 180 will return around 40 km/l in the city. On the highway it should return close to 45km/l. This will vary as per individual riding habits.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 Price

The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar is expected to be priced at INR 85000 (on-road, Delhi). The price will be slightly higher than the current bike owing to the upgrades in the engine and brakes.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 Launch Date

The new Pulsar 180 is expected to be launched by the end of this month. The bike is already being despatched to dealerships around the country. The change will be the new BS-IV engine and the introduction of a rear disc brake. It is the same unit found on the Pulsar 220F. This will also enable a fitment of ABS when the law for the same comes in.
