Maruti Alto 800 Design

The Alto 800 now gets a new face. The Suzuki badge now gets placed on the bumper instead of the grille. The new front grille is extremely slim and looks different from other cars. The front and rear bumpers are redesigned and look better. These are the major changes on the Alto 800 facelift’s exterior design. Nothing else has changed. The side profile and the rear portion remain identical to the earlier car.

There is even a bottle holder behind the hand brake lever. This can accommodate one bottle only. There is no space to keep any more large bottles in the Alto.

Maruti Alto 800 Engine

The Alto 800 comes with a 796cc petrol engine pumps out 47bhp of power. This engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. This car isn’t the most powerful on paper but in real world it is a lot more easier to drive. The Alto 800 has a CNG option as well. The Alto 800 might even get an AMT option as Maruti has tested one already but there is no confirmation on the same. This engine has been for more than 30 years now. However, it has been getting timely updates for improving its performance and even emission. The Maruti Alto 800 Price is good enough for a vehicle size, with the AMT the percentage increase in Maruti Alto 800 price will not justify the cost.

Maruti Alto 800 Competition

The Alto 800 competes with the Hyundai Eon, Datsun RediGo and the Renault Kwid. The upcoming, more powerful Tata Nano Pelican will also be competing in this segment.
