Tata Motors has been working on a new range of engines— both petrol and diesel— and one of them is the Revotron family. The Nexon— the compact SUV— will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will churn close to 110bhp of power. This new engine will be powering the petrol version of the Nexon. The new compact SUV from Tata Motors that is due to be launched by the end of 2016.

The Nexon is based on the X1 platform and this new compact SUV will get several features that will be seen for the first time on a Tata vehicle. The Nexon is likely to get keyless entry, push start and stop, touchscreen infotainment system with reverse parking camera, voice commands, dual airbags and maybe even multiple, ABS, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

The Nexon is being developed with engineering inputs from Jaguar Land Rover. The styling of this new SUV will be inspired from the Range Rover Evoque and this will be a part of the premium range of Tata vehicles.

There will even be an automatic/AMT on offer on the Nexon’s diesel engine. The Nexon diesel is likely to be a new 1.4-litre engine (Revotorq) that will be producing about 90-100bhp of power and will be highly fuel-efficient too. But as the 1.3-litre multijet engine has been tested for this platform, it will be a much easier fitment with lesser testing being required.
