The upcoming Tata Kite will have football superstar Lionel Messi as its brand ambassador. The Kite (codenamed) which will be launched in upcoming festive season, will be a major launch for Tata Motors and the company is looking at creating a significant impact for its new small car and compact sedan. Tata Motors have already completed a photo shoot with Lionel Messi in Spain, recently.

The Tata Kite (codenamed) has been based on the Indica platform which is heavily modified they have undergone a major upgrade in design and engineering to make it a lot more premium and at par with the competition.

Tata’s new Kite hatchback will be launched around the festive season this year, followed by its compact sedan in early 2016. The Kite petrol will have a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which will be naturally aspirated. This is the same engine that powers the Zest and the Bolt, however there will be no turbocharger on them. The diesel engine will be the 1.05-litre CR4 engine, which is the three-cylinder version of the existing 1.4-litre CR4 that already powers the Indica eV2 and the Indigo eCS. This engine will produce about 63bhp of power and is likely to have a fuel efficiency between 27-30km/l.

The Kite will have black interiors and an infotainment system which is similar to the Zest and Bolt.  The system shall offer connectivity through SD Card, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in. Alongwith the integrated music system at least on the top-of-the-line variant, it will also feature steering mounted audio controls, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs and mostly even voice commands.

We were the first to reveal the interior pics of the Kite and also have confirmed about Lionel Messi being the brand ambassador for this new launch from Tata Motors. We have also earlier shared the indicative brand names for the Kite twins, which could be Sway and Zica, registered by Tata Motors. Sway could stand for the Kite hatchback and Zica for the compact sedan, however, it is not fully confirmed as yet.
