After launching the Abarth brand in India last month, Fiat India is all set to launch its Abarth Punto on the 10th of October and will be a major shot in the arm for the Punto brand, since its facelift.

Contrary to rumours about an Abarth version in Linea, Fiat is currently focussing on the Abarth brand only for Punto and later for Avventura, having already launched the 595 Competizione. As per our sources, an Abarth version on the Linea has never been planned, at least for this generation and does not exist internationally too.

Fiat already has the acclaimed T-Jet engine in the Linea, delivering 112bhp of power and a class leading torque of 207Nm, making it one of the best performing cars in its segment. Fiat has recently launched the limited edition – Elegante in the Linea Multi-Jet diesel with additional features like touchscreen, 16-inch alloy wheels, black roof, body kits and spoiler.

Abarth Punto

With the Abarth Punto, Fiat is clearly targeting the VW Polo GT TSi customers, who want pure thrill from a hot hatch albeit at a reasonable cost. The Abarth Punto is a promising car and will fulfill the wishes of many Fiat fans in the country, who have been waiting for such a product.
