Mahindra has been looking at renaming the facelift version of the Quanto.

One of sources state that CUV300 or XUV300 are the names that the Indian automaker is considering for the facelift version of the Quanto.

The Quanto after the facelift will get several changes like day-time running LEDs, air-scoop on the bonnet and smaller taillamps with LEDs.

The Quanto (old codename U203) has also been given a new codename U215. The difference between the Quanto facelift and the TUV300 is that former is target urban car buyers, while the latter is for rural buyers.

The CUV300 (if that is the name) will be powered by a 1.5-litre engine that will be producing 98bhp of power and will come mated to a five-speed manual and an option of AMT (automated manual transmission) too will be made available. The company had showcased the Quanto at the 2014 Auto Expo with an AMT, however the company hasn’t launched it till date. The price of the Quanto facelift will be about INR 6-9.5 lakhs (on-road).

The S101 and the Quanto facelift, will form a new family for Mahindra if they name both of them as CUV100 and CUV300 (respectively).

Mahindra is moving towards alphanumeric naming for most of its new products. Quanto is being exported with Euro-V engines and after the facelift too, the company will continue to ship them to other markets. Mahindra will be exporting its other new products too, be it the electric ones or the Ssangyong UVs.
