Tata Safari Storme’s MY16 (model year 2016) will be called as Safari 400 and this will be launched sometime in 2016.

Tata Motors has been working on getting new products and every year the company will be launcing two new products. For this year, its two products will be the Bolt and the Hexa. However, it will also be introducing several upgrades on its existing product portfolio.

The new Safari 400 will be powered by the same 2.

2-litre engine, however it will be producing about 170bhp of power and 400Nm of maximum torque. The Safari 400 will be offered with an automatic transmission too, which will be a six-speed ZF transmission. The manual on the Safari 400 will also be a six-speed box. As Jaguar Land Rover is already a partner with ZF, Tata will want to utilise the same for the parent company too. The Hexa is also likely to get a six-speed ZF transmission and the same 2.2-litre diesel engine.

The Safari 400 will get Harman music system with an output from 10 speakers.

As per the earlier plan, this should have been launched by 2014. However, there seems to be a delay of about two years. The Safari 400 will be the new model for 2016 and it will out pass the competition in terms of power, fuel efficiency, best-in-class features and the best space in its segment. The price of the Safari 400 will be about INR 11-16 lakhs (on-road).

The Safari 400 will be launched by mid-2016, as at the start of the year, Tata Motors will be introducing the Kite twins and prior to that, the Hexa in November 2015.
