New Ford Figo launching in November 2015

Ford India, on the sidelines of Figo Aspire compact sedan’s launch, also made it clear that next-gen Figo hatchback would be launched during the festive of Diwali 2015 in India. The American automaker said that it would launch 3 fresh products in next 6 months starting from today, first of which was Ford Figo Aspire. The third product would be the new Endeavour SUV, which would be launched at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in February.

The new-generation Ford Figo has been spied undisguised several times on the Indian roads.

It would be the second product after the Aspire compact sedan to be manufactured at Ford’s Sanand facility. Flaunting an Aston Martin-esque front grille, which can also be seen in Fiesta mid-sized sedan, it would be quite identical to Figo Aspire in terms of exterior appearance, sans the boot. The interior cabin would have an all-black layout with Ford’s 4.2-inch SYNC infotainment system with AppLink also on offer. It is also being learnt that, like the Figo Aspire, the Figo facelift would also get dual front SRS airbags standard safety features.

Mechanically, the hatch is expected to share its engines with the Figo Aspire compact sedan. Both the 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engines are expected to be at the helm of affairs. The diesel motor would be the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TDCi with 99bhp of power and quite high fuel efficiency. The hatch would be offered with a five-speed manual transmission as standard, while an automatic gearbox could be available as optional with the range-topping petrol variant. Ford Figo would rival the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Toyota Etios Liva, Chevrolet Beat and Maruti Celerio in the country.
