Skoda, the Czech-based automaker, held the global premiere of the next-generation of its flagship offering Superb in February at its headquarters in Mladá Boleslav. Since then, it was expected to be heading India for a tentative launch time somewhere in and and around the first half of 2016.

But, surprisingly, much earlier, a Team-BHP member Gaurav Wagh has snapped the third-generation Skoda Superb in Aurangabad, where the company’s production facility is situated.

Talking about the new Skoda Superb, it is 28mm longer and 47mm wider than the ongoing model of the saloon in India. In addition, the wheelbase has been increased by 80mm to accommodate more legroom for rear seat occupants. As of exterior appearance, it has a more coupe-inspired design unlike the current-gen model. As for visual updates, the new Superb features traditional Skoda front grille, redesigned headlamps with LED daytime running lights, tweaked bumpers at front and rear, restyled tail-lamp cluster, chrome lining for the windows, a shark fin antenna and 5-spoke alloy wheels. Recently, the 2016 Skoda Superb underwent crash tests at Euro NCAP and it was awarded a 5-star safety rating.
