Honda had announced that it will be launching the Accord next year in India and so they had patented the design of their saloon. We have learnt form our sources that Honda has even patented the design for the Honda Civic Concept too in India. The Honda Civic 2016 comes in sedan and coupe style and for India it has been patented for the four-door sedan only. Honda will be introducing several new products in the Indian portfolio, like the Accord, BR-V and even the Civic. At the moment it is still in its concept phase, but the Japanese manufacturer looks serious about this product for Indian car market.

It will be getting sedans and UVs both of them to India.

The Civic will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine with direct injection and will come with six-speed manual and CVT options.

For India, there will even be a diesel engine too. From what our sources suggest, it is too early to share any timeline until the Civic production model is revealed.

The company has just announced that it will be soon beginning work on its Gujarat plant. Honda’s Gujarat plant will be the third one for them in India.

This plant should be ready by 2017-18, but right now Honda is working on increasing its production in its Rajasthan plant. The Rajasthan plant of Tapukara is about three times the size of the company’s first plant in Greater Noida.
