Hyundai Creta is the Korean company’s compact SUV that will be pitted against the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the Maruti S-Cross. The Creta will be powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine that produces about 126bhp of power and will come mated to a six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The other two engines that will be offered on the Creta will be a U2 1.4-litre engine that will come with a six-speed manual transmission and the other is the 1.6-litre petrol engine that will produce 121bhp of power and it will come with six-speed manual and automatic transmission. The petrol engine is all aluminium engine.

Creta follows Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 Design, wherein it gets:

– The new singular hexagonal grille with chrome slats

– Daytime running LEDs

– Projector headlamps

– High ground clearance

The Creta’s interior styling is a lot more stylish and feature loaded than competition. The Creta gets keyless entry, push start and stop, cruise control, automatic headlamps and wipers, reverse parking camera, touchscreen infotainment system with bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls and even rear AC vents. It will get six airbags, diamond-cut alloy wheels, leather seats, 7-inch AVN system,  push start and stop.

The Creta is a five-seater SUV and it competes with the Maruti S-Cross, Nissan Terrano and the Renault Duster. The pricing of the Creta will be between INR 8.5-15 lakhs (on-road). Hyundai might price it a lot more aggressively than this.

The gear ratios have been optimised for Indian road conditions. The Creta has been tested for about 2.5 lakhs kilometres. The Creta will not just be manufactured in India but also will be exported to other markets.
