Mahindra has made Quanto for export markets and will be manufacturing them for developed markets with the 2.2-litre mHawk engine. The Mahindra Quanto will be Euro V and come with the C8 variant. The variant that is exported is a 4×4 version. Mahindra has been manufacturing left-hand drive Scorpio (also called as Goa in Europe). Mahindra spokespersons have always stated that they could launch the 2.2-litre version of the Quanto overnight as the compact SUV has been tested previously.

The Mahindra Quanto is undergoing a major upgrade and there is a good chance it will be named too, once it gets a facelift. Mahindra has been testing it with the 1.5-litre diesel and even the 2.2-litre mHawk engine options. The Quanto facelift might be launched with both the engine options.

Mahindra TUV300 front

This will be the second compact SUV that Mahindra will introduce this year.

The new Bolero or the U301 will be the first one, while the S101 will be smaller than the two and will be more of a crossover than an SUV. The Qunato and U301 will be sub 4-metre and will be seven-seaters. Both will offer similar space and will have the same seats.

There will be a lot of parts sharing between the Qunato facelift and the U301.

Mahindra’s S101 will be targeting first-time car buyers, with this crossover. It will be a five-seater and will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engine options. Mahindra will be reviving the Indian car market with a set of new engines as it is co-developed with Ssangyong.
