Mahindra is gearing up to launch its new range of products and it seems that the Indian utility vehicle is looking at calling the U301 as TUV300.

This might be done as Mahindra will want to continue selling its current Bolero along with the new one. The TUV300 is a compact SUV (sub 4-metre) and Mahindra will be introducing a larger size of this new SUV in the future, which will be named as TUV500. The U301 has been made on a new platform and it will be powered by a 1.

5-litre diesel engine. This engine will come with two transmission options: five-speed manual or an automated manual transmission.

We had got some clear interior images of the new U301, which shows the interiors, dashboard and some more details of this new compact SUV. The interior space is similar to that of a Quanto and it will have three rows of seating, with the third row being jump seats. It comes loaded with several features and Mahindra will be targeting rural markets with this new SUV.

The U301 is based on a new platform and it seems to be getting somewhat clear that Mahindra will be using this kind of nomenclature for its upcoming products as the S101 is likely to be called as XUV100 or CUV100. This will be the smaller size vehicle when compared to the TUV300 and it will also have smaller engines. The S101 gets a 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines, which are the company’s newly developed engines. Both will be manufactured in Mahindra’s Chakan plant facility along with the XUV500.
