Another MotorOctane first! The Citroen AirCross Concept will be named as Cross Space, as per a confirmation from our sources. The Citroen Cross Space will replace the C4 Aircross model and will debut on the 8th of April 2015, which is just a few days away. The French manufacturer will make this new cross on the Mitsubishi ASX/Outlander Sport platform, and will be similar to its distant cousin Peugeot 4008.

The Citroen Cross Space’s first image was leaked out in French magazine L’Automobile, as the Aircross Concept. Citroen had launched the C-Crosser in 2007, which was based on the Outlander. Then in 2012 it replaced it with the C4 Aircross and now it will rename it as Cross Space. With just a couple of days away from its launch, the Cross Space will be showing the way the French marque is heading as it ramps up its crossover offerings.

While the Citroen Cross Space’s front grille looks resembles its siblings, it gets a new fascia.

Some of the design elements have been picked up from the C4 Cactus, but this does look a lot rugged. Despite the image being pixelated, we can clearly see that the plastic mouldings on the front bumper, wheel arches and even the rocker to give an SUV-like stance. The small glass-in area and the floating roof design give it an aggressive stance.

Then there are the roof rails and the panoramic roof too. This is likely to be powered by a diesel engine, mostly an existing 1.6-litre HDi from the Peugeot-Citroen stable.
