The interiors of the base model of Tata Safari Storme facelift have been spied. Initially we weren’t conceived either, but then we spotted some differentiators between the currently sold Tata Safari Storme and the images that we have received. The first difference is the new gear knob, which has R-1-2-3-4-5 layout instead of the regular 1-2-3-4-5-R layout on the current Tata Safari Storme, the way it used to be in the Tata Sierra. The second is of the steering wheel, which looks a lot premium with new stitching. Even the top storage space is now gone(above the AC vents).

The top-of-the-line variant still gets dual airbags, and there will be a new Harman Kardon music system too. In the top spec car, the upgrades will be climate control and also the music system. The steering wheel will also be upgraded and it will have an updated engine that will produce about 163bhp of power and 400Nm of maximum torque from the same 2.2-litre VARiCOR engine. With this partial image of the gear knob, we aren’t sure of it is a five-speed or a six-speed, but the chances of it being a six-speed are very high as Tata has changed the gearbox. The Safari Storme facelift should have a new gearbox and the G76 MKII might not be used as this one produces a lot more power.

Safari Storme interior

Tata Motors should be ready to launch the Safari Storme facelift sometime in the second half of April 2015. Lets us hope to see a lot more features on Tata’s flagship SUV, as it will disappoint several of its customers if there aren’t many updates.
