UM Renegade Classic coming by July

American manufacturer UM had unveiled the Renegade Classic motorcycle at the Auto Expo 2016. This new cruiser motorcycle is slated to hit Indian roads by June, this year. Currently facing little competition, the Renegade Classic is sure to appeal to many buyers. The bike is being manufactured in India and offers great style and value for money at the same time. The UM Renegade Classic is one of the most awaited bikes in this segment and we give you all the details on this new bike.

UM Renegade Classic Design

The UM Renegade Classic is typical classic cruiser looks. The front gets a tall windshield placed above the single chrome-plated headlamp. There are fog lamps on either side of the headlamp too. It has a wide handlebar for comfortable cruising. The teardrop shaped tank has a chrome pod on top . The seat is a split one which is broad enough to provide comfort. The sides have a silver finished panel next to the main side panels. There is a tall backrest for added comfort to the pillion. The Renegade Classic gets wheels with spokes, unlike alloy wheels, to give it a more classic feel.

UM Renegade Classic Engine

The Renegade Classic is fitted with a 279cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine which gives out 25bhp of power at 8,500rpm and a maximum torque of 21.8Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that powers the rear wheel through a chain drive. UM claims that Renegade Classic has a top speed of 125km/h.

UM Renegade Classic Price and Competition

The Renegade Classic is priced at INR 1.85 lakh (on-road). The Renegade Classic currently falls in a category of its own as there is no other cruiser bike with a 280cc engine in India. The UM Renegade Classic will nevertheless challenge bikes from Royal Enfield and Hyosung. It will also indirectly rival bikes like Mahindra Mojo.

UM Renegade Classic Launch Date

The UM Renegade Classic was launched at the Auto Expo 2016. However, it will hit showrooms only by mid 2016 as the dealerships are still in process of getting ready. The bookings for this bike have commenced.
